About the Area
Mystic, since its settlement in the 1650s, has been renowned as a shipbuilding center, and continues to have a great reputation for its maritime heritage and its ties to the sea. Mystic is one of Connecticut's most popular tourist destinations. The town is divided by the Mystic River, which flows into Long Island Sound. The country's oldest bascule drawbridge connects the west and east sides of Mystic, just north of Brewer Yacht Yard at Mystic.
Within walking distance of Brewer Yacht Yard at Mystic is Historic Downtown Mystic boasting some of the area's finest restaurants, retail shops, antique and art galleries and jewelry stores. Sea captains' homes, with their varied architecture, line the side streets of Mystic.
Nearby are the Mystic Seaport Museum, the Mystic Aquarium, Olde Mistick Village, two of the world's largest casinos, and other several attractions.
In addition, Block Island, Fisher's Island, Shelter Island, Watch Hill, Sag Harbor, Greenport, and Essex are all easy day - or weekend - destinations by sail or power.
Whether you plan to explore by water or by land, there is plenty to do and see. While your family can choose to enjoy the marina's amenities: the swimming pool, jacuzzi, or picnic areas; your boat will be safe, protected and in good hands at Brewer Yacht Yard at Mystic.
